We will maintain our program of preschool classes on Charlotte pike.
We will add the following programs at the farm:
· Our Reggio inspired playgroup with bilingual English-French teaching for ages 1 to 5 and their parents or other adult participants. In addition to the French language, everyone finds so much to explore indoors and outdoors as we experiment together with a variety of sciences and sensorial materials and songs, grow a garden, prepare snack, do yoga, play games, read books, and take nature walks to observe ecological interactions.
K, 1st and 2nd grades
· One mixed age classroom joyfully sharing the learning journey. For practice with the academic details we will use Montessori materials, and well designed curricula such as Saxon Math, Hand Writing Without Tears, Phonics for Reading, Spelling Bees, French instruction, and singing. I spent two decades of my life in post-secondary education studying sciences, so I love academics. However they fall flat when trying to stand-alone. This is why the project approach is the most valuable way to engage the development of the whole person by integrating learning domains and multiple intelligences, and nature is the best classroom to do so! Natural history is the story of our planet, and the story we want to tell. Centered on biology, forest ecology and sustainable farming our students will grow as co-researchers with a loving passion for the diversity of life forms. By creating fluid indoor and outdoor classrooms students will explore many labs and ateliers to enable children's drive to construct knowledge about the world, themselves, and others, and in the process favor the conditions to sustain life and human harmony on this Earth.
