forest FORAGING & SURVIVAL SKILLS
This fall, join us at A New Leaf’s Forest Campus for an unforgettable week of outdoor adventure!
Our Forest Foraging & Survival Skills Camp is packed with hands-on fun, where campers can explorer our 32 acre campus, build shelters, forage for wild edible plants and harvest from our fall garden. Each day brings challenges, teamwork, and play — blending imagination with real survival know-how. By week’s end, our forest will feel like a friend, and campers will be ready for their own outdoor adventures, carrying their new skills wherever they go!
Plant a Food Forest — plant young fruit trees and edible understory, and learn how a forest can grow food for years to come.
Map Reading & Trail Making — navigate the forest with our cardinal direction game and help create a trail map of our future arboretum!
Knot Tying & Shelter Building — discover the utility of ropes and knots, then team up to design and build a forest hideout.
Fire Safety & Outdoor Cooking — practice safe fire skills and cook up a tasty camp treat over the flames.
Water Filtration Challenge — turn muddy water clear and safe using science.
Wildlife Encounters — meet the forest’s animal neighbors and learn how to share a home with wild creatures
Foraging & Plant ID — go on a scavenger hunt for edible plants, natural colors, and unique species and discover the hidden treasures of the forest.
