Getting to Know the Redbuds Teacher

  • I was born here in Nashville. When I was four years old, my family moved to Spring Hill, which is not the small rural town it used to be. I lived there for about 17 years before relocating to Murfreesboro, where I currently live and adore it.

  • When I was in college, I was heavily influenced to go into nursing school. Not having any other idea of what to study, I decided to just go with it. That first week of classes was my last week of classes. I realized that nursing was not for me and scrambled to find something that I’d like to do. I took a big leap of faith and decided to pursue early childhood and elementary education and fell so deeply in love with working with children, and well, here I am.

  • I’m a Juniper exploring with two year old friends.

  • I’ve met a lot of wonderful childcare providers and educators that have taught me so many valuable things.

  • I’ve grown and changed in so many ways, but I’m most proud of the little family I’ve created with my fiancé.

  • I love watching horror movies and diving into dramatic TV shows with my fiancé. On the weekends, we host game/movie night with friends.

  • I love painting and drawing, though I don’t create as much as I used to.

  • Up until last year, I had never had a mango. Now, I really love mangoes.

  • Red is my most favorite color, but I also like pink and black.

  • Travel out of the country.

  • I love giving young children the freedom to explore and create new and meaningful experiences. Everything is new to them, and each day is filled with an abundance of learning opportunities.
