A New Leaf School is growing! We have many exciting goals for the upcoming school year and beyond, starting with the establishment of the Overall Creek Arboretum.
For the 2023-2024 school year, the PTO is working hard to support development of the new 32-acre forest school property and the creation of the arboretum, in addition to supporting programs on both campuses.
The PTO invites you to be a part of our journey!
A New Leaf School would not be where it is today without the support of our extended Nashville community. Thank you so much for the past 18 years of wonderful early childhood education. Please continue to visit A New Leaf for summer camps, and see you on the Bare Branches Festival on February 18! Mark your calendars as well for our annual Budding Branches Festival, set for Saturday, April 22.
The future Overall Creek Arboretum
Our goal is to support the development of educational opportunities of the Overall Creek Arboretum for our Nashville neighbors.
Future Offerings:
Workshops for aspiring naturalists of all ages
Guided hikes
Internships in outdoor education for all interested teachers
A plant and creek focused Triangle Play program
Summer Camps for children 3 to 16 years of age
Homeschool tutorials
Team building programs
Corporate scavenger hunts
A New Leaf School Campus at the Arboretum
Our goal is to enable the school to provide a great education for children ages 18 months to Kindergarten on this campus.
A New Leaf School of Nashville is:
Reggio-inspired education
Nature based
Hands-on, playful, and academic
Engaging all participants as co-researchers
Projects integrating all areas of development
Relationship and community focused
Continuation and additions to our preschool
For the 2023-2024 School Year, we will be adding:
One new group of 14 children ages 18 to 36 months
Two groups of 16 preschoolers ages 3 to 5 year old
One new group of 16 kindergartners licensed by the Department of Education
A New Leaf School Campus at the Farm
We aim to provide A New Leaf School with resources to redefine the goals and means of Early childhood and elementary education.
A New Leaf School of Nashville’s Farm Campus Offers:
An education for children (and goats) of 3 years of age to 4th graders
Licensed by the Department of Education
Triangle Play program for families
Summer camps with a farmers market for children 5 to 16 years of age
A New Leaf PTO
A New Leaf’s Parent Teacher Organization builds an inclusive school community rooted in a shared love of nature. It is designed to delight young children and enrich the lives of the people who care for them (faculty and staff, families, neighbors, etc). The PTO is a registered 501(c)(3) organization and encourages engagement and fundraising through the facilitation of events and donations. All are welcome!
How to join
Membership in the PTO is open to any parent, guardian or staff member of A New Leaf or Pip & Pickles Farm. There are no fees to join, just a form to fill out so that you may be able to vote on decisions during our monthly meetings, which are conducted either on Zoom or in person. You may fill out the membership form here.
